Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing angels, demons, and sinister influences expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as important members in the influential clan could assist the group access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Schemers tables.
